Great little pistol for training kids

I purchased this XGB for my great nephew thinking it would be better than a Air Soft gun. Well not only is this pistol more powerful than a ASG. It shoots clean through steel soup cans @ 20ft. Also shoots pretty darn accurate with 1.5 inch groups @ 20+ft. The only thing we have trouble with is loading clip. Once full if spring release is snapped back...BB's get pushed out of clip before clip is installed in pistol handle. This pistol has nice weight to it. For the price you can't really wrong.

Good side arm

I was very impressed how it works and saves c02 , 8 mags out of 1 c02, hellava bang out of it.

This isn't a review but this is a real gun

I haven't bought this yet but it is almost exactly identical to the more compact springfield xdm so it is a real gun

Very happy with this shooter

I really enjoy my XBG, I actually shot it so much that I wore out the little plastic nipple that keeps the BBs in the clip! That being said it took me over a year to do it. Replacement clips were a little hard to find and pretty expensive considering the gun cost so little. The sights aren't adjustable but you figure out where to "hold" pretty quickly. Being a CO2 BB gun the path of the BB changes slightly with every shot but any CO2 gun does that. If anything it makes the sights less important. The gun is rather slippery since it's plastic so I added a few strips of grip tape to it. You won't be driving tacks with this but you can sure make a can jump around the yard! I also like how the metal clip loads. To load the clip you pull back the slider till it catches, scoop up BBs into the grove and tip it so the BBs roll into the hole. Very easy, very affordable and lots of fun! Reliable too.

very powerful. makes soup cans looks like pop cans. 200 shot/CO2 cartridge. I SAID 200 SHOTS PER CO2 CARTRIDGE!!!!!!! (OR 10 FULL MAGS!!!) $50. fair accurate.good weight. compact. nice looking bb gun, so far very happy with my new toy (3 co2 cartridge already and 600 shots so far... i have the pistol for about 1.5hour !)

Personally I prefer spending a few more bucks to get air pistols that have more metal and more working parts, but not everyone has 100+ dollars to spend on an airgun or do they need it to be ultra realistic. Some people just want a gun that is easy on the wallet but still offers decent performance and reliability, and to be honest, a simpler design with less moving parts to wear out or malfunction is probably going to give you better reliability at the end of the day. It just depends what you are looking for. This is my Official Field Test Shooting Review for both the Umarex XBG and Umarex TDP 45 CO2 BB Pistols, make sure to also check out my Umarex XBG and TDP 45 Table Top Review for more information on features, specifications and photos. As usual with my Field Test Shooting Reviews I test out both Umarex pistols using my Chronograph and put five rounds through it with each CO2 BB Pistol to get a real world average fps. Umarex claims around 410 and I got pretty close with both pistols using a brand new Umarex CO2 cartridge in each gun. The temperature was not overly warm as we are now into fall here in Canada BC but so there may be room for a bit higher fps out of each Umarex CO2 BB pistol.
