Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman Triple Threat CO2 Dual Ammo Revolver is quite pleasant in a single action, with virtually no take-up and a not-too-light, predictable weight. In double action, the pull becomes longer and heavier but remains manageable. For those with larger or thicker fingers, starting with a single action may be more comfortable due to the tighter finger opening.

Accuracy: In our Indoor Field Test Shooting video, we started by testing velocity with a fresh 12-gram CO2 cartridge. Using 7-grain .177 caliber Lead Pellets, we averaged 382 fps, which is likely to increase in warmer conditions. Surprisingly, 4.5mm 5.1 grain Steel BBs had a significantly lower average velocity of 288 fps, nearly 100 fps less than the lead pellets. This discrepancy is likely due to the snug fit of lead pellets in the barrel, preventing CO2 leakage, whereas the harder metal of Steel BBs allows some CO2 to escape. In the accuracy test, the pellet magazine (holding 10 rounds) achieved a tighter grouping of about 1 inch, compared to the 3-inch grouping of the 6-round BB magazine. Both pellets and BBs tended to shoot slightly high and to the left of the bullseye, but this can be corrected with the fully adjustable rear sight.

Build Quality: The Crosman Triple Threat CO2 Dual Ammo Revolver is a simple yet reliable pistol, featuring plastic outer barrels in various lengths (3/6/8 inches) and inner steel barrels, along with plastic grips, magazines, and sights. The receiver, trigger, and hammer are made of metal, ensuring durability. This line of Crosman 357 pistols has a long history of providing hours of enjoyable and dependable shooting.

Realism: While there are more realistic-looking replica revolvers available, the Crosman Triple Threat excels in performance, reliability, and consistency. It offers more shots per CO2, higher fps, and better accuracy than many of its more realistic counterparts.

Pros:

  • Affordable pellet revolver with a long-standing reputation.
  • Metal construction in crucial areas such as the trigger, hammer, frame, barrel, and CO2 screw.
  • Single and double-action trigger for versatile shooting.
  • Excellent accuracy, good power, and a decent number of shots per CO2.
  • Fully adjustable rear sight.
  • Rifled steel barrels in all three lengths.
  • Three barrel-length options for different looks and performance.
  • Well-concealed CO2 compartment with metal construction.
  • Includes both pellet and BB magazines.

Cons:

  • Plastic outer barrels, though sturdy, could have been metal for added weight and balance.
  • Grips and trigger pull length may be too large for those with smaller hands in double action.
  • Not the most realistic revolver in terms of appearance, but more functional than many replicas.
  • Sights lack white dots for easier aiming.

Comments:

The Crosman Triple Threat CO2 Dual Ammo Revolver is essentially a versatile version of the Crosman 357, offering three different barrel lengths to suit various preferences and needs. It allows for the use of either cost-effective 4.5mm Steel BBs or more precise and faster lead pellets for enhanced accuracy and energy. If you're undecided between the standard 357, the Vigilante, or the Triple Threat, the Triple Threat may be the best choice due to its flexibility and range of configurations.

American-made classic with hidden potential!

Made in the USA! High FPS, incredible CO2 efficiency, dead nuts reliable, and great adjustable sights for both windage and elevation. Although the barrel housing is polymer, it's Made in USA-level polymer - very sturdy, hefty, and no wiggle. Three different rifled barrel lengths in the box gives you three airguns in one! Since it's essentially the same as the older Crosman 357 from the 1970s, there's a huge wealth of knowledge available on the internet for mods, repairs, spare parts and such. Because of this, there's is a lot of hidden potential in this airgun! There are .50 and .68 paintball, NERF dart, and slingshot round barrel and mag designs on the 3D printing sites. Apparently, guys have even successfully converted this to 6mm airsoft carbines and mashed together parts from the classic Crosman 22xx/13xx series! There's endless potential, but do your homework first and mod at your own risk. Comparatively, this airgun is at a low enough cost where you can just shrug buy another one if you do break it irreparably.
