Trigger Pull: Fairly short with only a little bit of take up. The release is light and crisp. The blowback action resets the internal hammer/striker with each shot for that true single-action trigger. It’s also nice that the trigger has a working trigger safety.

Accuracy: I placed 10 shots into a paper target with my Umarex Glock from a distance of 30 feet down range using my standard seated and rested shooting position (sand bag up front and sitting in the back). Shots did spread out a bit, getting close to a 4 inch group but I think some of this had to do with the fact that I was still using the lighter weight .20 gram airsoft BBs. Heavier .30+ gram airsoft BBs may have produced a tighter grouping for me. Even so, 4 inches at 30 feet that were pretty well-centered is good enough for close quarters shooting which is what an airsoft pistol is meant for.

Build Quality: The Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen seems well-made overall. It does seem a little bit underweight but it still feels solid enough in the hand. The slide is metal but has a bit of an unusual finish that makes it look a lot like a plastic frame rather than a more shiny metal look. All the parts seem to fit nicely, maybe even a bit snug at first, as I noticed the side had a bit of friction to it but seems to be working in nicely now.

Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol looks the part of a Glock 17 4th Generation all day long. Other then the slightly lighter weight it would be hard to tell off hand until you remove the magazine and take a closer look. All the parts work as you would expect them to, similar to the real steel version. You can even fully field strip the pistol which makes getting to and adjusting the hop-up easy enough to do.

Pros:

  • 1:1 scale replica of the Glock 17 with official licensing
  • Ergonomic 4th generation grip
  • Realistic gas blowback action
  • Adjustable hop up system
  • Full sized metal drop out magazine

Cons:

  • Orange tip detracts from realism
  • Sights are not adjustable

Comments: At long last, Umarex has delivered an officially licensed GLOCK airsoft pistol replica. The GLOCK 17 Gen 4 is functionally identical to the real steel firearm that inspires it. Shooters will love the familiar ergonomics, take down procedure, metal slide, drop free 20 round magazine, and the realistic blowback action. Other features include fixed white dot sights, a functional trigger safety, and a tactical rail for flashlight mounts or laser sights.

Solid collector piece.

Biggest selling point for me is it's fully trademarked, more solid build quality (over WE and TM ie. less rattle) and pretty much 1:1 dimensionally with realsteel. Been working flawlessly so far after about 1000 rounds. Can get 2-2.5 mags worth of shots on a full 7 second fill. Came with the extended and short inner barrels. A bit pricier here in Canada but definitely worth it rather than trying to import one yourself. If you don't plan to upgrade almost everything or are a collector I'd choose this over TM or WE. AFAIK stock for upgrades like a fixed/threaded outer barrels for tracers are hard to come by for this model. Might be a worthwhile upgrade in the future if I can find one. Regular wear and tear for floating barrels starting to show. I use dry graphite powder lube and it hides it well. Only questionable quality thing is the anemic trigger safely, as it uses a plastic blade as it's spring so it's basically mush. I cut a few coils off a spring from a bic lighter and fit it onto the blade and it feels much better. Not specific to this gun but a issue for me so far is losing fill port o-rings. They usually fly away into the abyss when I pull the gas away too fast and the last burst of gas forces the o-ring up and away. Remedied by slowing letting off while keeping the gas needle pressed lightly into the port.
