Customer Reviews for Umarex Glock 17 Gen4 BlowBack BB Gun

Brand: Umarex Canada

Weight: 771 g (1.7 lb)
Barrel: 91.44 mm (3.6 in), metal, non-rifled

Action: Semi-Automatic, blowback, single action only
Ammo Type: 4.5mm steel BBs
Ammo Capacity: 18 rounds

Trigger Pull: Single Action Only So You Will Need to Rack the Slide First to Not Only Chamber a BB in the Breach Area but to Also Cock the Internal Striker. There Is a Working Trigger Safety and You’ll Also Find the Glock 17 Gen 4 Has a Nice, Short, and Light Trigger Similar to the Real Steel Glock. Perfect for Fast Action Shooting!

Accuracy: Umarex Claims Around 300 FPS but I Was Able to Get a Little Higher with My 5 Shots Through the Chronograph, Averaging 310 FPS. I Was Able to Get Around a 3.5 Inch Grouping but I Feel I Could've Done Better Since Several Rounds Actually Shot One on Top of the Other. The Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen Did Shoot a Little Low and to the Left but Not a Lot.

Build Quality: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 Looks to Be Well-Made with Metal and Plastic Parts Where You Would Find Them on a Real Steel G17 Gen 4. Fit and Finish Are Nice and the Slide Wiggle Is Next to Zero. The Slide Spring Is Very Heavy and the Sound of the Slide When Racked and Released Doesn't Have That Cheap Metallic Sound Some Blowback Airguns Have.

Realism: Umarex's Replica 100% Looks the Part of a Glock 17 4th Generation Gun. Sitting on the Table and Even Holding It in Your Hand You Are Going to Think It's the Real Deal Until You Drop the Magazine and See That It Is a BB/CO2 Mag. Mostly Everything Operates Like a Real Glock 17 Including the Slide Catch Release, Trigger Safety, Magazine Release, and Even the Take Down Switches for Quick Field Stripping and Access to the Adjustable Hop-Up.

Pros:

  • Authentic Replica Airgun of the Glock G17.
  • Enhanced Blowback Slide Action for Realistic Feel.
  • Full Metal Slide That Provides Enhanced Blowback Recoil.
  • Ergonomic Polymer Body with Gen4 Textured Grip.
  • 18-Round Drop Free Magazine is INCLUDED.
  • Runs on One 12 Gram CO2 Capsule.
  • Fits Most Aftermarket Duty Holsters.
  • Tactical Rail for Accessory Attachment.
  • Working Trigger Safety Prevents Misfires.

Cons:

  • FPS Could Be Higher.
  • Sights Are Non-Adjustable.
  • Would Have Liked to Have Seen More Pristine Packaging from Glock.

Comments: I Know Everyone Has Been Waiting for Umarex to Release the Glock 17 Gen 4 BB Pistol and Here It Is Finally. I Really Like the Trigger on the G17 Gen 4. It’s Short and Light, Perfect for Shot Placement and Action Shooting. The Blowback Action Is Nice and Crisp, Giving the Glock Just Enough Blowback Recoil Effect. I Didn't Have Any Issues with the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4, Which Makes for the Best Testing Out of All the Umarex Glocks to Date. The Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 BB Pistol Is by Far My Favorite Version! If You Already Have an Umarex Glock, That’s OK Get This One Too, You Won’t Be Disappointed. If You Haven’t Bought One of the Umarex Glocks So Far Then This One Is the One to Have, but I Say Why Not Have Them All :)

As advertised, no compliments

Bought it three weeks ago, and put 500 BBs through it. Bought this for the realism, and it it is everything I'd hoped for. Millimeter detail accurate, aside from the under barrel safety, the lack of 9x19 engraving on the slide (which actually is accurate), and the under trigger warnings. Only a Glock owner would know the difference, weight is exactly accurate. Shooting is straight and accurate dispute the loss of FPS with the realistic blow back slide. Stood 20M away and hit bang on every time using the sights. Shot off many BBs as fast as the trigger could pull, and all sailed straight. Only holds 17 BBs due to full accuracy mag which is realistically heavy. If you are looking for a realistic Glock this is the only choice. Live in the Lower Mainland area and Replica Airguns delivered in two days. Nothing wrong with this gun, or Replica Airguns, highly recommended.

Finally... but was it worth the wait?

Right off the bat, all this wait and I was expecting to at least get a box, instead of the basic clam-shell packaging. I do like the fact they included 2 extra backstraps that install quite easily. I'm also very impressed with the licensing details - both sides of the gun everywhere and even on the bottom of the magazine, and on the magazine face with the 17-shot mag view holes. I am disappointed they once again left out the 9x19 engraving on the slide. The usual white warning stuff is barely visible under the trigger guard. The gun itself doesn't feel any heavier than it's predecessors. I did notice a huge difference with the heavy duty spring that has a great snap on release, and a solid realistic heavy blowback. I'm not a fan of the safety under the barrel (which will be covered by my laser/tac combo installed onto the rail system), but I guess it's added protection considering the real Glocks don't have a safety, only on the trigger, as this one does (and actually works). Big bonus that this Gen 4 is fully field stripable, exactly like the real Glock. Overall, the bigger price for a few extra backstraps isn't justified, nor was the almost 1 year wait. Still, a great addition to my collection for an amazing replica Glock. 5/5 stars ---------------------------------------- Edit: 2/5 stars Just finished shooting this, and as expected, the blowback is excellent. However, I'm not sure if this is a new system (I own 12 handguns) on this Glock, but when you first insert a loaded magazine and pull back the slide, it seems to load a bb in the barrel. About every 5-8 shots, the trigger doesn't engage the CO2 and as a single action, the trigger doesn't engage. I have to re-cock the slide for it to shoot. A few times I've pulled out the mag and it seems a bb is stuck. I will have to call Replica Airguns to see if I have a defective gun, because as of now, this is very unreliable and the worst gun I've owned as far as shooting goes!
