Trigger Pull: Double action only triggers since there's no blowback action to set the trigger in single action mode. It'll be heavier than a true single-action trigger. That said, the trigger is not bad at all and can be activated very quickly for tons of fast action shooting, or at least until your 18 rounds are all gone :). I would say the trigger pull is between light and medium with a medium pull length and not that much take-up at the beginning.

Accuracy: I've played around with the Air Venturi HellBoy shooting at clay pigeons from various distances and it was surprisingly accurate for off-hand shooting. I could easily hit a clay pigeon from about 50 feet away with most shots. On a target, I shot a nice 10-inch 10-round grouping using a mounted red dot scope to help.

Build Quality: The Hellboy is made in China and some people will not like that, but I found it to be very well-built. Fit and finish are as good, if not better than any Taiwanese airgun I have reviewed, so quality control in the factory must be good. You're going to find metal parts where you would expect them to be on a real M4 (AR), like the receiver, barrel, buffer tube, magazine, carry handle, forward assist, charging handle, sling mounts, safety, and magazine release. Plastic parts are going to be the rear stock, hand guard, and pistol grip.

Realism: The Air Venturi HellBoy M4 BB Rifle is a 1 to 1 replica of the M4 or AR platform and even has some interchangeable parts like the hand guard and rear stock. You can take this gun down into the two halves, upper and lower, which makes for barrel cleaning or BB jam removal pretty easy. Even though there's no blowback action or internal bolt, you can pull the charging handle back which opens the dust cover just like the real deal. Other working moving parts are the magazine release, selector switch, forward assist, and adjustable rear stock.

Overall nice unit !! Feels like the real deal in your hands, and I like it !!! A little $$$ for mid-capacity (18-rds.) semi-auto (as compared to Crosman R1 or DPMS which are higer cap (25-rds.) and full-auto capable), but the quality and POWER compensate for the price-tag. Plus the mags can be reloaded AT LEAST 6 times before the CO2 pressure noticeably drops. Couple sidenotes: . barrel-to-mag seal fell out of the receiver as the unit was first removed form the packaging - attributed to "jolting" during shipment - EASY to reseat thru the side ejection port/dust cover opening (intuitive how and where it fits, and can only be reseated one way). . if you're going to field-strip it, know what you're doing BEFORE removing the receiver seat-pins, or you'll have pins, springs, pieces coming out, and if you're not familiar with the whole thing may not have fun after getting it back together ! . if your hoping to remove the forward barrel extension to shorten the overall length, it's not possible as the inner barrel is a solid steel piece - would only save you 3-4 inches anyway - at 30" it's pretty short as it is outa-the-box ! . Air Venturi rates the firing sound as 3/5,..honestly I would say it's more like 2/5,...VERY QUIET (so if you're hoping for a loader discharge sound this doesn't have it)

Money well spent.

Picked it up today from the PO and couldn't wait to unbox it. I spent 8 years in the U.S. army and carried the M4, this is as close you are going to get to the real thing here in Canada. 10 yards out I was consistent with my groupings and average fps was more than 490. I am on the island and a sea level. The report is average but I highly recommend this rifle, 20' out I was able to puncture an empty spray can and yes I cleaned up my target. Glenn in Victoria....

worth every single penny

got it shipped through purolator 3 days from order to doorstep!! as for the hell boy itself one word epic. accuracy is amazing 5 mins and was sighted in with my Centerpoint 4x32 is a real nail driver had to beef up my backstop as bbs went right through it. weight is on par feel is perfect and the minimal plastic give it a truly authentic feel if its in-stock and your looking for a new item for your collection BUY THIS RIGHT NOW !!

A very cool gun with some flaws

I received this from Replica Airguns in the mail and was very happy when it arrived. The look and feel is great. However the magazine has a major flaw in it. Mine hit the O ring leading to the inner barrel only the second time I ever took in and out the mag. This broke the screw, then forcing the O ring spring to eject the inner barrel into the receiver... Amazingly the gun is still working but you literally have to hold the inner barrel in against the springs power where it should be, through the dust cover when putting the magazine in or the barrel will obstruct the magazine literally being in the middle of the receiver.. Very awkward... So ummm Overall I hate to knock it because other than this issue the gun is really nice. I Emailed Replica Airguns about the issue and am awaiting a response. So far they have been really great with all my previous orders. Finally I'd say I've seen a lot of other friends who have this gun and theirs works fine. No matter how good the quality of a gun you are always going to get those flawed ones every couple hundred or thousand the factory spits out. Mine could be an odd case. I'd still consider buying this gun if you are looking into it.

Fantastic

My Hellboy exceeded my expectations. It looks and feels awesome, and it shoots hard with great accuracy! I get over 100 decent shots per CO2. The recoil and report are basically nil, but this was expected. It’s perfect for a whisper quiet backyard plinker. I love the nostalgic look of the carry handle and basic hand guard. I added an M9 bayonet for a bit more old school “tacticool”. The bayonet lug works well. My only complaint is that the magazine in my rifle “wobbles” slightly every time I pull the trigger. I contacted Replica Airguns, and I was told that can be normal out of the box. I’ve put hundreds of BBs through my Hellboy, and the “wobble” remains. Although this mildly detracts from the realism while handling the rifle, the “wobble” does add a slight sense of recoil to an otherwise recoiless shooting experience. All-in-all my Hellboy is an excellent shooter and beautiful replica. I am very impressed with the product and level of customer service I received. I highly recommend the Hellboy and Replica Airguns!

Very Nice Gun

This is a rather well made M4 replica. A little let down by the metal quality but this was to be expected. Everything is as shown and as specified. The gun uses C02 very sparingly and you get a lot of shots out of one chamber. If you're only going for realism and not functionality there are other options, I would recommend real steel replica airsoft modeals that cost around $500 USD. If your on a budget this is it. Good gun, Good price.

What a GREAT M4 replica!

Even though it came out of the box with its front sight post not square (crooked), its so well built, I fixed it in a hour or so in my tool room. I'm a grad of AGI's Practical GunSmithing course, but anyone with patience could fix it cause its well built. BUY one if your thinking of it cause you may not be able to in the future.

HellBoy M4 tactical Co2 BB air rifle

The replicaairguns review is bang on! This is a super fun m4 replica BB gun that actually shoots a hard as the manufacturer claims! The velocity helps me reach out and kill cans to 40-50 ft �� I added a rubber recoil butt pad for comfort and replaced the carry handle with an AimPoint style rear combat peep sights. I put a rail on top and one below for a foregrip and flashlight. I would love an AirGun like this in .22 caliber roundball!
