Customer Reviews for KJ Works P226 CO2 Blowback Airsoft gun

Brand: KJ Works Airsoft Guns

Type: Airsoft Pistol
Manufacturer: KJ Works
Model: P226
Materials: Metal slide & frame
Weight: 1.13 kg (2.5 lbs)
Barrel: Metal, non-rifled, smoothbore
Power Source: 12 g CO2 x 1
Action: Single and double action
Ammo Type: 6 mm airsoft BBs
Ammo Capacity: 24 rounds
FPS: 350-400

Trigger Pull: Shoots in single and double action and is fairly light on the finger. The KJ Works P226 seemed light when shooting in single-action. This is all based on simple dry firing.

Accuracy: I placed fresh paper targets 30 feet down range and put 10 rounds shooting from a rested sitting position. I did not adjust the hop-up or sights prior to see how close to the bullseye they would get out of the box. The KJW P226 shot fairly near the bullseye but the grouping opened up just a bit, resulting in a 4.5 inch 10 round group. Still respectable for a close airsoft quarters sidearm.

Build Quality: Excellent. KJ Works makes exceptionally quality airguns. This airsoft Sig Sauer P226 pistol is all metal, full blowback, and ultra-realistic.

Realism: In terms of realism it does not get more realistic than this. You are going to find that the KJ Works P226 Airsoft Pistol mimics a real Sig Sauer P226 very closely with working parts as you would find them in the real steel version. The P226 comes with a CO2 magazine which is a bit elongated from the pistol grip but there are shorter green gas magazines for this gun available.

Pros:

  • Full blowback operation
  • Full size drop-out magazine
  • Easy to use white dot sights
  • Working decockers and true-to-form single and double action trigger
  • Comes with a speed loader

Cons:

  • Does not have adjustable sights
  • I don’t like the way the extended CO2 mag looks

Comments: You are going to love it. I am a big Sig Sauer fan and so it makes sense for me to own something like this so I can shoot it any time I want without having to go to the actual gun range and spend a boat load of money firing off real 9mm ammo. You really do get a very realistic experience shooting this ultra-realistic airsoft pistol. This replica is the same size and weight, all the controls work the same, the triggers have the same weight and feel to them, and the blowback action simulates the recoil as the real steel gun. The only difference is the cost to shoot, less recoil feel, and the fact that most people can shoot with this safely in the privacy of their own backyards.

I expected a lot better

My first KJW gun and I am not very impressed. It's all metal but most of the detail is cast in and not real -- fake screws and pins, that sort of thing. The action and operation is realistic and the gun has the heft of the real thing (including the fat grip). The CO2 magazine is definitely an afterthought -- it extends absurdly below the grip in what I assume is an effort to keep as much internally similar with the green gas version of the mag. A mag designed from scratch for CO2 would have been nicer. The gas system itself is pretty inefficient -- I couldn't finish a second mag on one CO2 cart. Now granted the mag has a high capacity compared with my KWC guns -- about 50% more BBs in there -- but that's still only about half as efficient or worse. Once past the halfway point the system has a tendency to only partially seal after the hammer strike, resulting in a slow leak for a moment. Unimpressed for a gun in this price range. Shoots a nice tight group though. For a while.
