Trigger Mechanism: The KWC M712 Airsoft Pistol features a trigger pull characteristic of a full blowback, single-action only firearm. It exhibits a slight initial take-up followed by a light and smooth release. In full-auto mode, continuous firing occurs as long as the trigger is pressed, though care must be taken as the gun continues firing even after BBs are depleted, due to the absence of a bolt lock-back mechanism when empty.
Shooting Precision: Determining the accurate shooting point of this pistol took some time. I realized it shot high and, after adjusting the rear sight to its lowest, began hitting the target. Aiming substantially lower was necessary for bullseye proximity. At 30 feet, the accuracy was commendable, yielding a 2-inch group from 10 shots. Full-auto mode naturally resulted in less precise, spread-out fire. The FPS performance was impressive; even with .25 g airsoft BBs, it exceeded 400 FPS on a fresh CO2 cartridge.
Construction and Quality: The KWC M712 is robustly constructed with full metal, weighing a substantial 3.15 pounds. It offers the option of a two-handed grip, using the forward magazine as a foregrip. The pistol's fit, finish, dark grey color, and convincing plastic wood grain grips contribute to its quality feel.
Authenticity: This airsoft pistol is an exact replica of the M1932/M712 Schnellfeuer, featuring all operational components including the semi and full-auto selector, working bolt, hammer, safety, adjustable rear sight, and a full-size drop-out metal magazine for CO2 and BBs.

The KWC M712 Airsoft Pistol is the fully metal version that many hoped for from Umarex. Available in both 4.5 mm steel BB and 6 mm plastic airsoft, it caters to a wide audience. Despite its tendency to shoot high, the pistol impresses with its high FPS and rapid full-auto fire rate, making it an essential addition for collectors of classic wartime pistols.
