Customer Reviews for Sig Sauer X-Five ASP Blowback Steel BB/Pellet Gun

Brand: Sig Sauer

Model: X-Five ASP
Material: Full metal
Weight: 1.2 kg (2.7 lb)
Length: 221 mm (8.7 in)
Barrel: 127 mm (5 in), rifled
Power Source: 12g CO2 x 1
Action: Semi-automatic, single action only, blowback
Ammo Type: 4.5mm steel BBs / pellets
Ammo Capacity: 20 rounds
FPS: 430

Buy the magazine: SIG1058

Accuracy: It shot an average of 359 FPS, which was lower than my testing of the Sig Sauer ASP P320 which shot an average of 413 FPS. I'm not sure why there was such a difference since both guns use similar internal mechanics but I have a feeling the CO2 may not have been fully pieced since some shots seemed weaker and the CO2 output didn't seem consistent. I got a tight 1.5 inch grouping with my X-Five ASP. It was shooting a bit low and to the left for me in my testing but the rear sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation so this can be easily corrected.

Pros:

  • Full metal construction available in black or nickel finish
  • Capability to shoot both 4.5mm steel BBs and pellets
  • Full blowback action cycling
  • High capacity 20 round belt-fed magazine
  • Weaver/Picatinny rail for mounting tactical accessories
  • Rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation

Cons:

  • Blowback action drains CO2 quite quickly
  • Non-rubberized grips can be slippery in wet conditions

Comments: The Sig Sauer X-Five ASP CO2 Pellet Pistol is Sig's latest ASP (Advanced Sport Pellet) air pistol. Like the Sig Sauer ASP P320, it has a high capacity belt-fed magazine along with an easy load CO2 system. The X-Five ASP is a really well-made and fun gun to shoot. I love the high capacity belt-fed magazine which is not heavy on the trigger at all unlike some other guns. The fully adjustable rear sight is something you don't often see on CO2 blowback action shooters so hopefully this is a new trend.

Hefty pistol, accurate as hell, but a lot to improve elsewhere

I bought the pistol after I bought a KWC 75 BB gun because I wanted something more precise, yet capable of shooting both, pellets and steel BB. Pros: Hefty pistol, feels real and, once the sights have been adjusted, accurate as hell. I shoot every time 15 out of 20 pellets within 1" diameter from 15 feet, the rest within 2". It lasts about 80 pellets per CO2 cylinder. Cons: The slide does not lock back once finish the pellets, so you need to count the shots otherwise you end up doing more dry firing than you should. It does not have an open gate to see if the chamber is loaded or not, which proved quite frustrating when one of the pellets jammed and it jammed the magazine with it. Ah, for some reason, it doesn't shoot all the pellets in the belt, always one or two left inside. The trigger has a long pull but is light. Conclusion: I was quite decided to return it, but the accuracy and the fact that is "Made in Japan" tilt me towards keeping it. Had the KWC 75 had a pellet pistol similar to the BB, I would have changed it without any second thoughts.

X-Five Sig Sauer

First, i love this gun because it's realistic, the weight comes with it! It worth the price! I love the way you put the co2 in, it's amazing you just squeeze the handle and no co2 lost!! But i got to say it jams from time to time. I noticed it jammed when i was shooting really fast one after an other. I guess this pistol might not be made for that. But that I ain't a problem for me. The reason for 4 stars is the accuracy. So far was not able to shoot every pellets close enough to each other. But has I read in other review, it might be the pellets I have, not sure yet. Still need to try it out. I might come back later and give a 5 star. It's only my 2nd day of shooting with 4 co2 out.

Ok

I had high hopes for this gun. It feels and looks so real but jams on me very frequently. It's a pain to jam a dowel down the shaft to push back the pellet that just seems to be pushed out a fraction of an inch and jams the gun. I called support they just said jam a dowel down because a pellet is just out a bit. I like the gun hate having to do this frequently!

Sig X-5

This gun almost was almost returned as it was a nightmare. The magazines were constantly jamming and the gun cycled poorly( it would misfire around every sixth or seventh shot requiring me to rack the gun again) but after going through about four or five Co2 cartridges ( with a big dab or pelligun oil) the gun seems to have smoothed out. The magazines are as bad as the reviews you have read, like I said they were a bit of a nightmare. I was however able to get them to function by first lubricating the mags with Silicon, wiping off the access, then actually using a few drops of gun oil directly on the links in the mag ( a bit messy but very slick). Use only wadcutters pellets, but what is critical is this, as you insert pellets into the belt, don't push them down flush against the links, just push them in until you feel the first "click" not all the way flush or else they will jam. The gun has a nice weight to it and the adjustable sights make it very accurate. The gun is nicely made, but the magazines need a redesign.

Lot of fun

Very realistic. Accuracy depends on pellet's brand. Suggest the Crosman Premier Pointed 7.4fr, it has a better velocity and accuracy.

Sig Sauer x5

the upper slide is loose, not a tight fit, you would think it would be better machined
