Pros:

  • Equipped with semi-auto and full-auto firing mode
  • Detailed replica of the original Beretta 92 A1
  • Full-metal construction with realistic weight and feel
  • Strong slide spring provides heavy blowback action
  • Realistic working decocker safety and slide catch
  • Can be field stripped just like the real steel gun

Cons:

  • Blowback system and full-auto firing increase CO2 consumption
  • Non-adjustable sights
  • White warning instruction on slide detract from realism

Comments: Umarex went the extra mile for this replica, with attention to detail in every component. The drop-free magazine, slide catch, and safety are all true to form. The only unrealistic feature is the upgraded full-auto firing mode, but we can hardly fault Umarex for including that. There are several Model 92 replicas on the market, but this one is by far the most realistic.

Looks and feels great, well worth the money.

Compared to my older spring loaded M9 which was also my first air soft pistol, this pistol not only looks great, but it "feels" great not just in realism but in actual operation. It does not feel like plastic garbage only fit for someone purchasing their first air soft pistol. As to the weight of it, since I do not have a real one, I can not compare it to the real thing. I would recommend this air soft pistol if you like the M92.

Umarex Beretta M92 A1

I really like the gun but the accuracy was way off, it shot about 4 inches below centre. Unfortunately the sights cannot be adjusted.

One of the best guns in my large collection, and I own two!

Imagine one in each hand both shooting full auto! Nothing beats that! I own the exact same real 92 and they're easy to confuse, and my real 92 sin't full auto! Field strips the same, weight with co2 is same as real one with empty clip. Sure the sites may not be adjustable/accurate, but both my replicas and my real one have tac/laser combo on the rails and sighted for 30 feet and always get a great grouping. As for the white letters, I wet fine-sanded the entire slide on one to a nice steel finish, making a point to keep the trademarks visible, and on the other, I purchased a flat black paint and light coated the entire side the lettering was on until the letters vanished and the slide color/finished matched. Really wish I could upload pics to this review, as I'm sure everyone would agree how such a quick, cheap and easy fix makes this Beretta look bomb!

Decent gun, but needs work.

The weight and feel of this gun is impressive. It really feels like you're holding the real steel version in your hand. The only thing detracting from the realism is the glaring white engraved warning paragraph on the right side of the gun. It would've been much better left black. The weight and feel of the magazine is also impressive. It feels like a precision made piece. The slide catch/release snaps back with authority, due to the strong slide spring. This also allows for a more realistic blowback feel. I knew I wasn't buying a marksman pistol, but this gun is horribly inaccurate out of the box. It does have a hop up adjustment, so I'll be experimenting with that, before I make any other adjustments. Mine consistently shoots about 6 inches low from 25 feet. Groups weren't horrible though, even for a BB gun. I think there is some misinformation by other reviewers. It should not be necessary to take a file to the sights. I'm guessing the reviewer that did that was unaware of the hop up adjustment. If you're unaware of "hop up", I'll try to explain. It's a function of a BB or air soft gun that puts a back spin on the projectile. This backspin changes the in-flight trajectory and significantly increases the effective range and accuracy of the gun. This phenomenon is known as the Magnus Effect. The natural and unmanaged trajectory of a ball, propelled out of a tube, is to immediately start losing elevation. The hop up adjustment on this gun is in the slide. Look for a small silver wheel sitting on top of "UP" and a right hand arrow. The main reason I bought this gun is for its full auto feature. Be warned though, it's fairly loud. My neighbours are used to hearing nail guns in my workshop, so the sound of a single CO2 powered shot isn't a sound that would arouse any suspicion. In full auto mode, it sounds (to me at least), like something other than a nail gun firing and may prompt questions from neighbours and attract unwanted attention. I use this feature sparingly...but man, is it fun! With the potential of more stringent gun laws in Canada in the near future, I wouldn't be surprised if fully automatic actions (on air soft and BB) are completely banned. Worst case scenario...I still have a fun gun, whether or not it's banned, and that's OK too.

Great gun, inaccurate sights

I have recently added this Umarex Beretta to my collection of a Px4 Storm and a 92FS. The 92FS is clearly a higher quality production, made in Germany and at considerably higher cost. This model, with blowback and a selector that goes full auto, is a blast. It puts BBs in a very tight grouping, but in the case of my example, 2 1/4” low and 1/2” right at 15 feet. From my research, this is a common fault of the 92A1 that Umarex should have fixed by now or alternatively, provided adjustable sights. I plan to put a laser on the rail, but have also filed the front sight down considerably and added a slight addition on the inside right of the rear sight. Now it is dead on. It is too bad such a great gun has such a glaring flaw, but it is well worth the money.

One of the best hands down

I got this not to long ago and I have had a blast with it. I’ve had a number of BB and pellet guns like the PX4 Storm and the P226 and the DPMS SBR just to name a few. The Beretta 92A1 and the DPMS SBR are by far my two favourites and it’s going to take one amazing gun to out due either of them. Right now the only two left in my collection are the DPMS SBR and the Beretta 92A1 but I do look forward to seeing what new guns come out in the next few years.
