UMAREX MORPH 3X CO2 CARBINE: Manual

Trigger Pull: The double action type trigger pull on the Umarex Morph 3X CO2 BB Gun is reasonable, it is a bit on the longer side but it's smooth with low friction and has a predictable break point. I found it very easy to shoot this gun with good accuracy, shooting it out in front as a pistol or rested on the shoulder as a rifle.

Accuracy: I was very impressed with the overall shooting performance of the Umarex Morph 3X CO2 BB Gun, it scored well in both power and accuracy! I was able to get a nice tight 3/4 inch 10 round grouping on my paper target setup 30 feet away and even with the Canadian version's 4.5" barrel I was still able to get really close to 500 FPS!

Build Quality: The Umarex Morph 3X CO2 BB Gun coming in at a low cost BB gun considering it is so versatile. At this price point you are going to find an almost all plastic build with the exception of some internal metal parts. That said, the Morph 3X feels solid and well made, all the fitted parts feel tight when put together.

Realism: The Umarex Morph 3X CO2 BB Gun is not a replica of any gun that I can point out. It can also morph into so many different variation, Umarex says it has 3 configuration but I counted at least 8 mixing and matching components.

Pros:

  • Super versatile airgun with lots of configurations
  • Very powerful CO2 BB gun even in short barrel pistol only mode
  • Shooting test showed it had good accuracy, as good as any BB gun I have tested
  • Rails on top and bottom for accessories
  • Fiber optic sights front and bac
  • Has a velocity screw for adjusting FPS power
  • In pistol form with the rear stock, it would make a great back pack airgun
  • 30 round internal magazine for lots of shooting fun without having to reload so often
  • Uses 12 gram CO2, cheap and easy to buy

Cons:

  • Mostly plastic build
  • No inner barrel inside rifle extension, just for show, does not increase velocity
  • Rear sight is not adjustable, but you have the option to add on a red dot or optical sight to the rail

Comments: I was pleasantly surprised with the Umarex Morph 3X CO2 BB Gun. I expected it to be much different from a lot of the other airguns I have reviewed since it is so versatile with all of its configurations. I was not expecting it to be so powerful with only the short 4.5 inch inner barrel. I was again surprised by the accuracy, not many BB guns get a 3/4 inch grouping at 30 feet out! Another kind of cool feature I didn't even know about at first is the ability to adjust the velocity using a screw for higher or lower FPS. Lower FPS will maximize the amount of shots you get from a 12 gram CO2 cartridge, while higher FPS is just kind of more fun to shoot in. I also don't often recommend BB guns for pest control, but in this case I would, because of its light weight and ability to break down and carry in a backpack, plus the fact that it is quite powerful and accurate out to 300 feet. In a pinch, you could take down some small vermin if you found yourself hungry and lost in the woods.

pretty cool

the only criticism I have is the trigger pull. harder to shoot than most rifles which can throw off your aim. too bad the barrel extension isn't 4.5 m inside. only for show which can reduce accuracy

A lot of fun for the price

A great gun for around $100. With a speed loader I can load about 30 BBs in seconds. I have about 20 different air rifles/pistols/revolvers and the Morph is one of my favourites. Speedy service from RAG.

Fun Offering From Umarex

So I've owned this rifle/carbine/pistol/household food processor contraption for quite some time now (however not purchased from replicaairguns.ca - sorry Mike) and I've got to admit it's an absolute riot to plink with and is just overall fun since all the parts are interchangeable which allows you to make up some really goofy combinations. Pistol with a rifle barrel? Why not? Rifle with a pistol grip and no stock? Sure! Whatever other kind of madness you can figure out "just for fun"? Done and done. Friends and I have used this strange contraption of an air gun for just friendly and fun target practice using different configurations just because "Why not?". While the build is mostly made of plastic, that's about the only only complaint I can think of. I've put at least 500 rounds through this without a single hiccup: However, I have found dust in the air to be an issue leading to gunking up the internal parts of the air gun but it's nothing that routine maintenance wouldn't ensure never becomes a serious problem. Don't take the air gun too seriously, have fun with what it is and can be, and just enjoy it for what it is.

Extremely accurate BB rifle

I bought the morph because I wanted to make a sniper repeater and I wasn't disappointed. From 15 meters (indoor), I can hit soda cans without even trying. I added a NCstar 4x30 scope on it which I do recommend to anyone who buys this gun. Like Mike pointed in one of his review videos, the sights on the gun are weird because the rear sight is so close to your eyes so I didn't bother using them. It's really powerful, simple to use and quite accurate for a BB "rifle" at longer range. It's a shame the morphing process is useless on the canadian version of the gun but nonetheless, in pistol form, it's great!
